In a world buzzing with busy lives and comm

itments, organisations like DRARA still needs community members to step up and play a crucial role in supporting our community. If you're a local resident, a newcomer looking to connect, or simply someone wanting to make a positive change, your support can make a real difference.

Areas Where DRARA Needs Volunteers

If you're keen to help, here are the key areas where DRARA especially needs volunteers:

1. Event Planning and Coordination

Events are vital for community engagement. We have a very active group of volunteers who have been organising events in our area. Their significant efforts would be enhanced by having a coordinator who can help keep everyone informed about is happening and when.

For instance, a successful community fair might require 30 volunteers to handle various aspects—from crafting activities to managing food stalls.

2. University Liaison

Our student neighbours add a vibrancy to our community but this comes with challenges as well. Oxford Brookes University has an active Community Engagement team that holds regular meetings with local community representatives. We need a committee member who can serve as our representative to Oxford Brookes in particular, as the largest proportion of students in our area are studying at OBU.

3.Member Subscription Collectors

A great way to meet your near neighbours is to become a DRARA membership subscription collector. Once a year our stalwart group of collectors reach out to houeholds across our area to collection membership fees, update residents about the latest neighbourhood news and hear find out about any issues they may have.

Please contact secretary@drara.org.uk or drara.chair@gmail.com if you want to contribute more to our community
